The girls have been sleeping for 10 hours………….

More later. Check this same post!

Ok, so last night was a big step for the girls (and mommy!). We had intended to move Elise and Avery from their bassinets in our room to their cribs in the nursery at about 8 weeks, assuming they were sleeping well. As noted here, they were even before then, and by 8-10 weeks they only woke up once a night (once they finally got to sleep!), making a perfect time to switch!

It was then, however, that Kyle also returned to lots of overnight call. I wasn’t about to mix things up that much just then, for my sake really! πŸ˜‰

So last night, considering that Kyle is going into a nice outpatient stretch, we moved the girls.

We weren’t sure how they’d handle the change – and the long-term verdict is obviously still out – but they both slept over 10.5 hours without waking up!

Elise also proved to be more like her mama than we might have thought. My parents might recall many a night where I would end up upside down and backwards at the opposite end of the bed from which I started. She’s following in my footsteps… the night was started on her back of course, with her head to the left side of the photograph (actually twice as far to the left as the photo even shows!). The few times we checked on her (me twice, Kyle once), we flipped her back onto her back, but when we got up at 5 this is what we saw:

I must say, I could get used to sleeping 5 hours again! πŸ™‚

Comments

  1. Congratulations on moving the girls into their cribs! They seem to both really love it πŸ™‚ I hope it continues to go well for you.

  2. Good for them (and you!!!) Hopefully, they’ll keep this routine going for you! I can’t believe how big they are getting and of course, they are ADORABLE!!!

  3. Thanks ladies! We’ll see how night #2 goes…. they’re down now, I’m sure you’ll hear from me soon – especially if it goes poorly! πŸ˜‰

  4. Wow, she’s a little explorer, eh? Somehow, I think she’s got the spirit of the Adventurer’s club fueling the sleepytime hours!
