Letters from Santa

The cutest letters arrived in the mailbox today for Avery and Elise!

They were in beautiful envelopes, on gorgeous sparkly stationery, and even had raised seals and postmarks from the North Pole!

“Dear Baby Elise,

Merry Christmas, little one! What a special holiday season this is for your family; your First Christmas! I remember the day Cornelius, my head elf, informed Mrs. Claus and me of your birth. He exclaimed that, “Elise Kaufman was born today in Cincinnati, Ohio!” It was Monday, June 16, 2008 at 8:35 am. That was such a wonderful day, and one minute later your twin sister Avery arrived! I know your parents are so happy to welcome you both to the family. They love you very much. This Christmas will provide your parents with the most fantastic, lasting memories.

Rudolph and all the reindeer are very excited to visit you at your home on [street]. We all are looking forward to visiting you every year as you grow into a beautiful person, both on the inside and out. This year your mommy and daddy asked me to bring you something special. They told me that you have been a good girl and that you have been trying all kinds of yummy vegetables. I am proud of you! They also told me how good you are at making them laugh each day. You are such a joy to them and to all of us!

Since this is your very First Christmas, Elise, your name has been placed at the top of the “Nice List”, with your sister’s. Once you are older you will have to listen and follow the rules and be good to your sister, Avery, in order to earn your spot on this special list.

Welcome to the world, Elise! You are a very special little girl. As you get older you will realize how much your family and all of us here love you! Always remember how special an individual you are.

Have a very Merry 1st Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Love, Santa”

“Dear Baby Avery,

What a joyous year it has been up here at the North Pole, especially since we received the news of your arrival into the world! I remember the day Mrs. Claus and I heard the news. Cornelius, my head elf, rushed into our kitchen while we were having some hot peppermint tea and sugar cookies. He said, “Today, Monday, June 16, 2008 at 8:36am, Avery Kaufman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio”…. just a minute after your twin sister’s arrival! Mrs. Claus, the reindeer, the elves and I all rejoiced when we heard the wonderful news!

Now I realize you are only 6 months old and too young to read or understand this letter for some time, but I couldn’t wait to write to you and let you know how happy we are to celebrate your very First Christmas! Avery, you are such a precious child and I know that your parents and your twin sister Elise feel so blessed to have you in their lives. Your mommy and daddy especially enjoy when you snuggle with them! I want you to know that I have been working very hard this year to make this Christmas season the best of all. I am looking forward to visiting your home in [town] this and every year to bring you wonderful toys and gifts.

Since this is your very First Christmas, Avery, I will place your name at the top of the “Nice List”. This is an honorary position, because once you are older you will have to listen and follow the rules and be good to your sister, Elise, in order to earn your spot on this special list. You are such a special baby girl and a joy to your family. I’m sure your parents will teach you all about the spirit of Christmas, and the Reason we celebrate. I know that each year as you get older you will realize how much you are loved by your family and all of us!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Have a very Merry 1st Christmas!

Love, Santa”
