A Day at the Museum

On a very grey (albeit warm!) day in Cincinnati…

… where better to go than the Children’s Museum for another Music & Movement class?!

Kyle got to join us today, and meet lots of our friends! We had a great time again, and are bummed that we’ll be out of town for the March class. (Wait, strike that — we’re bummed the class is to be held at the same time that we will very excitedly be out of town!) Because he was there, the girls finally got to ride in their biggest-girl strollers! While this mama was VERY pleased with how freaking easy it is to push one baby, the girls were a little “off” in them! I’d say by the time we need them again they’ll just about be perfect. Even so, they were awfully cute ๐Ÿ™‚

After singing, dancing and making lots of fun music,

we reintroduced Kyle to some of the wonderful areas the museum has to offer for kids of all ages! We started in the area for the smallest of kids – an area designed for visitors who are “not-yet-crawlers” to “little ones taking their first steps”. It’s actually designed as a safety measure so little ones don’t get trampled on a busy day, but look how incredible this little barre is for little girls like Elise and Avery to practice standing!

There was also a “crawling pit” that they tried out for a little while, but – as you might expect – there was too much to see and do outside of the restrictive walls to keep them contained for long! ๐Ÿ™‚

Both girls loved seeing themselves in the mirror, but Elise especially got a kick out of it.

We also checked out the rest of the Little Sprouts Farm, including a slide that was just perfect for first-timers (with Daddy’s help)!

My favorite has always been the “Waterworks” play area!

It won’t be long before my girls will be thoroughly enjoying it (at least I hope they do!), but it’s also never too early to check it out for a minute!

After being awake for 4 hours with no nap – and being near-saintly the whole time! – it was definitely time to hit the road. We stopped for lunch at Yellow Cab Pizza Co. before getting home for a long nap!

(Never heard of Yellow Cab? Yeah, it’s because there are five locations only. Wanna’ know where? Ohio (obviously) and ….. Guam, Kuala Lumpur, Doha, and Manila. You can’t make this stuff up…)

All in all, a really, really great day!

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! They are so darn cute! I love Children’s Museum. I know they will have many wonderful days there. Hope the rest of your night went well.

  2. Isn’t the Museum Center great! We have a family pass and go there all the time. Do they hold the class in “Little Sprouts” in the childrens mueseum, it looks like the girls had a blast!! When they get a little older, or if mommys ok with it now, there’s an awesome sand box in the science museum that my kids loved when they were smaller. Missing next months class will be ok because you’ll be at DISNEY, YAY!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Mom, we got through the night… Avery still loves me anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Melissa, we didn’t try the sandbox yet because the girls were too tired, but it looked like fun! The classes are held in a little room off of the Children’s museum, sort of “behind” or around the corner from the… construction area? Do you know what I’m talking about? It is connected to the kitchen in the little town, but is really unassuming otherwise.. you may have never even noticed it! We’re looking forward to more time there!

  4. Jen,

I remember that area well and all our kids loved it also. We have a membership at the museum center too and will have to get together. The girls are so cute and getting so big.

  5. They’ll be little dancers before long!

  6. You know their mama wouldn’t mind that! ๐Ÿ˜‰
