A Few of my Favorite Things

Since I was a little girl, I have LOVED swings. I still find myself a bit jealous of the girls as I’m pushing them, wishing I could just sit and swing for hours!

As I’ve mentioned, they like it too… and for their birthday, they received a swingset for our yard so we don’t have to wait until we’re at a park!

Aren’t they just so sweet?!

On a completely unrelated note, I also love balloons. Look through my recent Disney trip (and probably every one prior), and you’ll see this. While I won’t pay $39.23 for a balloon there, I love photographing them because they make me happy. At first, they did NOT make Elise & Avery happy.

After several days of keeping an eye on the balloons tied to their chairs, though, I think they realized they were harmless. As soon as I noticed this, I of course taught the girls to “bop” them. Of anyone reading, I’m pretty sure only my sister gets the significance of this… but man, had I been waiting to “Bop” with my babies!

See them doing it on their own, a few days ago —

The balloons are floating about halfway between the ground and the ceiling these days, so you can hear one or both girls “bopping” at various times throughout the day. I’m not sure what they’ll do when we have to throw the balloons out.

(Maybe learn to jump on the trampoline?)

  1. oh.my.gosh. the bop video is sooo cute 🙂

  2. Isn’t that hilarious? Ben, the boy half of my “first twins”, used to always play that game with me when we had ornaments hanging from the ceiling on the floor I took care of him. It made me laugh then, and still does the trick! I didn’t get the girls cracking up at the balloon like they tend to do now… that just adds to my laughter! 🙂

  3. I knew it was Ben from Max’s house. The video is too cute. I do believe I have 2 of the cutest granddaughters in the universe!

I love swings, balloons and bopping too!!

I hate the “newfangled” swings at the parks…swings need to be flat for my hiney.

  5. the BOP video is too cute! i think almost worth $39.23! their outfits with the hearts are adorable in the video too. i am glad you girls like the swings. looks like a beautiful day.

  6. That’s true mom, you knew my Benny. Cassi and I have just talked about it several times with the girls (fairly recently even), so I think she was waiting on it, too! 🙂

Theresa, I think the newfangled swings you’re talking about are what came with the set. I had never seen anything like it, but they’re a hard plastic that curves up on either side. I’m pretty sure only a child fits! 🙂

  7. This is guaranteed to bring a smile. 🙂

  8. They know bop now! 😀 I always wanted to teach them, because I thought it was so cute when Benny used to do it, so I’m glad you taught them. 🙂
