Wedding Day Snapshots

I’m sure there will be some pictures added somewhere down the line when the professional proofs come back, but these will have to do for now. The girls sure looked awfully cute in their dresses!

For the record, after a PERFECT run-through at the rehearsal, the walk down the aisle on the Big Day was a bit more… eventful πŸ™‚ I’m guessing that – as predicted – the 200 people between my mom at the back of the church and Kyle and I at the front were a bit too much to overcome. Avery sat down in the middle of the aisle and cried (could it be the 9 hour sleep deficit she was working with?), requiring a rescue from Kyle. After said rescue, she smiled and cooperated beautifully. Elise was a bit of a slow starter, and required some coaxing from Mama. Once she got in the groove though, she stopped and posed and smiled for all the cameras she saw – including right in the photographer’s lens. I’m looking forward to that one… πŸ™‚

They were very well-behaved the rest of the time, including the final blessing and the recessional, when they re-joined us up front. Not bad for 13-month-old flower girls, I would say. We are so thankful Kelly and Justin took a risk to include them, and hope there are at least cute pictures to show for it! πŸ˜‰

Until then, though, a few of our own —

Hanging out while we weren’t needed for pictures, practicing the piano! Cute bibs and shoes, no? πŸ™‚ The shoes the girls had for the wedding ended up leaving AWFUL marks on their poor little feet after the rehearsal, so we put them on as little as possible on Saturday.

Cooperating a few minutes(!) and even smiling once or twice (!!) for pictures

Playing before/during the reception

As mentioned, there was a significant sleep deprivation factor we were working with all day. The previous night gave us a rough start, then the girls also decided to skip their morning nap for the most part. They did take an hour or so nap in the afternoon, but that’s significantly less sleep in 24-48 hours than they require! We were very pleased with their behavior all day, but disappointed that they were unable to stay up late enough to tear up the dance floor. Perhaps at the next wedding!

  1. They made very cute little flower girls. I still love the 1st picture of you with them. You really do look like a high schooler.

  2. I am impressed that the girls made it down the isle all by themselves! What big girls and independent too. Can’t wait to see all the girls playing together at play group this week.

BTW: The dresses for the wedding were beautiful!

  3. The girls look for pretty! I LOVE their dresses!
