Quick Update

First, Kyle might have what equates to a job offer. It’s still in the preliminary stages, but it looks decent. However, the job he really wants (and has for years) is still up in the air, so prayers for discernment and wisdom are always welcome – especially as we begin to feel like we’re running out of time.

Second, after spending a couple of hours in the MD office this afternoon while Elise received some breathing treatments, we are now beginning daily Pulmicort (steroid) nebulizers every day, probably twice a day. She had a little bit of snot (allergies, likely) the last day or two, and out of nowhere it turned into another horrible asthma exacerbation that nearly sent us to Children’s for the fourth time in three months. Hopefully this will prevent quick deterioration like this, though it obviously adds several minutes to our morning and nighttime routines. At least it will give Avery a chance to get used to it though, because she was quite concerned about her poor sister in the office today (sweetest thing ever).
Anyway, that’s been our day. How was yours? 🙂

  1. Just out of curiosity, have they had allergy testing yet or are they too young? If they did, what kinds of things are they allergic to? Tell them I said hi! 😉

  2. No testing until they’re a bit older, and they won’t even really treat allergy symptoms (on a regular basis, at least) until they’re at least 2. I’m sure it’s just the same stuff we all have around here though – pollen, dust, trees, grass, etc. We’ll find out soon enough! In the meantime, the daily steroids should keep Elise from having these exacerbations as quickly as she does.

  3. Be careful what you write about my jobs and job offers. While this is generally only read by people who are close friends and relatives, it is public and with employers checking facebook profiles, etc these days I’m always a bit nervous about what is out there for anyone to read.
