Festival of Lights 2010

Last night (yep, just 12 hours ago and already an entry!) we went to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo.  This has been a yearly tradition for as long as I can recall, and was especially enjoyable this year.  See, we hadn’t planned to go just yet … but it was 50 degrees even after the sun went down.  We assumed it would be very crowded, but felt it was worth it to not be bitterly cold as we usually are!

AND we assumed incorrectly.  I don’t know if it was the impending rain (no threat of it really, until 9pm or later – in any forecast), the fact that it’s technically still November (though after Thanksgiving, so even “normal” people are getting into the Christmas spirit these days), or what… but it was empty.

To top it off, there were a handful of new and very cute “attractions”.  It had been a while since anything really changed for the better, but this year they added a fairy hunt and a few really cute themed areas.  It was no “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” (What? Oh that’s right, I haven’t told you about that.) but it was a perfect start to the holiday season here at home.

(Crazy, crazy girls.)
