Pumpkin Carving

This past Halloween, Elise and Avery wanted to carve a jack-o-lantern face instead of anything more elaborate.  Can I just say that we’re going to do this every year until they can choose and carve their own?!  It was so, so nice and quick – and very cute!

But first things first, the goop.  If you’ve been around for a while, you know that some years have not fared so well when it comes to pumpkin goop scooping.  You also know, then, that one of my daughters is quite opposed to touching said gourd innards.  Elise helped a bit though, and before long our pumpkin was ready for carving.

But second things second…

True to form, this silly boy had very little reaction.  It was as if he just hung out in pumpkins all of his life.

The best reaction (and subsequently the most hilarious photo) actually came only when he was looking at my ridiculous antics as I was trying to get his attention.  This was minutes after getting placed into the pumpkin, and had nothing to do with his odd location.  It’s still funny to look at.
