Birthday Parties and Summer Fun

Being in a class with other kids had a perk the girls hadn’t thought of prior to starting preschool… all of the birthday parties! They didn’t even make it to all of them, but they got to enjoy parties at bowling parties, pump-it-up, movie theaters, and even backyard soirees with the largest piñata any of us had ever seen! We also enjoyed our summer spending time at our neighborhood pool and at Kings Island.  The girls are big enough to {Read More}

Nolan’s 1st Birthday, in pictures

The weekend after his birthday, we had a wonderful “it’s a small world” themed party with 75 or so of his closest friends.  I had such a fun time with this theme, after having waited years to do it! 🙂 What a fun day!  Lots more pictures of decorations and fun in the photo album linked above (April).  After napping off the afternoon, he had a blast opening a few presents and FaceTiming with some family. We sure do love {Read More}

WCMOTC Spring Party

Easter, really? It’s almost August.  *sigh*  Oh well, they were already cute back then, too, so I press on! 🙂 We all made it to the WCMOTC Spring Party again, which now I realize as I write was probably our last twins club function since we’ve just started donating most of our stuff instead of spending hours tagging and selling it.  Interestingly, not at all bittersweet.  I’m mostly indifferent, though thankful for a couple of great friendships from there. But {Read More}

Disney Family Day 4.4

The last DFD we did before our most recent trip was a fun one, and a bit newer territory than the classic movies, or even the parks.  As a family, we were turned on a while ago to Phineas and Ferb, and it’s growing on the girls pretty rapidly, too.  If you know the premise of the show, you know we could have done a thousand other fun things, but here’s what our day looked like: Perry cupcakes – Mad {Read More}

The DFD that will Never Be (4.3)

Oh, Robin Hood, what gives? Seriously, for two or three rounds of Disney Family Days now, it’s been on the schedule.  I have nothing against the movie, but something always came up pushing it farther and farther forward on the calendar until it was too late. This time, I was determined it was going to happen.  I also read back through the old parties with the girls, and was determined to put more into this one as I had in {Read More}

DFDs 4.1 and 4.2

Wow!  As I get around to writing this, it’s been 2 years since we began doing these “parties”, or “Disney Family Days“.  I have admittedly gotten lazy – both in frequency and in scope – but the girls still enjoy them… and I still have plenty of movies with which to redeem myself! That hasn’t started yet. 🙂 With our next trip (Nolan’s first!) now 46 days away, we’ve done two DFDs already this time around.  The first, long overdue {Read More}

Rainbow-ly Birthday Party

Elise and Avery chose a simple Rainbow birthday party this year, which was super fun.  We had several handmade touches as always, entirely too much sugar… and lots of laughs! Guess the # of Jelly Beans Coloring Station as the kids arrived Ribbon wands Food, including custom water labels and rainbow fruit & veggie trays Egg+Spoon Relay … sort of an epic fail. 🙂 Beanbag Toss Sack race! Sweet 4-year-old Birthday Girls! Tons (tons.) more pictures in the June Picasa {Read More}
